Just Do It, Part 5
Perseverance is the road. It is the path to maturity, and the backbone which lets us stand against the trials and brutalities that life throws at us. To all those who persevere, God has promised to make it worth their while. In Part 5 of our series, Just Do It, we examine what it takes to stand firm through our trials and the outcome (or reward) of persevering through life’s hardships.
Scripture:
James 1:12
Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.
Highlights:
• God has promised to make it worth their while to all those who persevere.
• All of our trials are heavenly Father filtered.
• If you ask most people what they desire more than anything they will say “happiness.”
• God will reward wonderfully those who endure faithfully through their trials.
• Love is the only thing that can drive a person to go beyond where they think they can, or even want to go.
• When there is deficient love for God, the Christian has lost his or her best reason for standing firm.
• Perseverance in time, brings a crown, which is life lived in strong confidence, and courage.
• Christ never promised those who follow His way a comfortable life.
• Three postures for overcoming temptation: 1. Sit, 2. Kneel, 3. Stand
• If we love God we will stand firm in times of trials and be blessed.
